Xiaomi introduced Redmi Pro and Mi Notebook Air at an event in China earlier this week. Today the company has sent invites for another event in China on August 1st where it will unveil a VR headset, as it had promised last month. The teaser reveals that Xiaomi will launch video resources that will give users an ‘enjoyable VR experience’.
Xiaomi’s VR headset is expected to work similar to Samsung Gear VR that would require a smartphone. Xiaomi general manager Tang Mu already confirmed that the VR headset will support Google’s Daydream platform with an integrated support for MIUI.
The Xiaomi VR headset event begins 10AM on August 1st, Monday. We should know all the details in a couple of days.
